Working in Elevated Mode allows the user to perform non-standard operations.
A user can only operate in Elevated Mode if they have been designated an Administrator by an existing administrator.
A user starts operating in Elevated Mode by either selecting Menu > Admin > Elevated Modeor by right-clicking the Cimera icon in the System Tray (bottom right of the screen) and selecting Elevated Mode.
When a user is operating in Elevated Mode then ELEVATED MODE is displayed next to their userid in the Status Bar on the Cimera Main Workspace
It is highly recommended you only operate in Elevated Mode if there is a specific task that requires you to do so and to return to normal operating mode immediately once you have finished it. Cimera has security and validation features for the protection of the user and to maintain the integrity of the data; Elevated Mode removes some of these protections and should be used by exception.
Features of operating in Elevated Mode include:
Promote an item to any State in its Lifecycle regardless of valid transitions.
Assign items to (and otherwise reference in items) Users and Groups that have been disabled.
Right click menu option when viewing charts to view the underlying data tables.
Clear the text in a History attribute.
